Artwalk September 6 & 7 2008

How to Submit
Email your information!
Please send your information to Ralf our Exhibitions Chairman, email exhibitions@livessence.com by August 31st. If you have any works you would like to submit that are over 24 inches wide, please contact him to confirm there is space. As well, you may need to provide an easel. All work must be wired and ready to hang.

The info he needs is the following: artist name, title, medium, framed size, price and methods of payment accepted. Please ensure titles and artist name is on the back of each piece to facilitate the label installation. If paintings are not framed, the sides must be painted. Works on paper must be framed, but no clip frames please.

Work drop off times
Are between 5 and 6 pm on Friday September 5th. If you haven't updated your artist bio/statement in the binder, this would be a fabulous time to do it. Bring it with you to our location (currently in the small gym) when you drop your work off between 5 and 6 pm.

We have absolutely no lighting to provide for our members, so please bring your own lights and extension cords.

Hosts for Artwalk needed!
Ralf is making up a schedule for hosting of our Gallery. Time slots are 2 hours each, and there will hopefully be 2 on for each time, starting at 10 am and ending at 5 pm (or thereabouts).

If you have a preferred time to volunteer, please contact Ralf asap so you can get your name on the list. Early birds get the choices, so don't delay!

If you would rather not submit a piece or two for Artwalk this year, please do consider volunteering to be one of our Gallery hosts. You get to talk to a lot of wonderful INTERESTED people. Afterall, that is why folks come to Artwalk, to look and talk about art!

Artwalk is fast approaching! It is one of the biggest art shows, if not THE biggest, in the Okanagan. If you are a current Livessence member, we welcome you to submit up to five (5) artworks to the Livessence Gallery, at no cost.

There is no cost this year because we are paying the Artwalk fees out of our grant funds. We recognize how expensive framing and showing can be, especially when there are no sales, but it is important for our members to show their work as part of their artistic development, and to build community awareness and understanding of figurative art.

We aren't sure we can do this every year, so please, use this opportunity to get your work shown! If it isn't shown, it can't sell!
Artwalk - Figures in Art

George Eliot Secondary School Winfield, BC

The attendance at this show is fabulous, with audiences in excess of 3000 people. Even if you don't show this year, do come out and see the artworks, and maybe get inspired!

Come to the Social at Ricardo's!

Because Artwalk is such a huge event for all of us artists, we thought we would celebrate the installation of our fabulous pieces at Artwalk on Friday September 5th at Ricardo's Restaurant in Winfield. Ricardo's is in the Holiday Park Resort, and we have reservations for 730 pm.

Take down and Suggestions for next year

Removal of artwork and take down is Sunday September 7th at 430 pm. Please keep in mind any suggestions to help make next year's show better!

If you aren't a current member, but would like to show with us at Artwalk, please contact our secretary Margaret at margaret@margaretgleig.com. Memberships are still available and cost $35.

Please do get involved with Artwalk this year, whether as an exhibitor, as a volunteer, or both! And the dinner afterwards will be a nice culmination for our hard work, reservations have been made for 20 people, so get your name in fast to reserve a spot or two!
